Well if you want to make $3k on max allocation you might sell. Then its 100% CGT at your marginal rate for most of us. Personally I didn't take part in SPP for that reason, I did it to save $20 commission (joke).
On my account I need to manually adjust the cost base so it reflects purchase otherwise it shows 0.00, just in case you didn't know.
