You'd have to wonder how many smelters are profitable at current prices? I'd doubt there are any in Europe outside Elkem in Norway.
FeSi prices to fall further in Europe amid nonexistent support
FeSi prices continue to drop on weak activity amid high competition among FeSi suppliers in Europe. FeSi (75% Si) was quoted at some EUR 2,070/t DDP in October (EUR 2,215/t a month ago).
Manganese alloy prices to fall further in Europe
Low manganese consumption in Europe continues to affect prices. SiMn (65% Mn; 17% Si) was quoted at EUR 1,165/t DDP on average in October (-EUR 45/t month-on-month), while HC FeMn (75% Mn) was offered at EUR 1,185/t DDP (-EUR 35/t).
