DRE recycling old news as well as old projects now it seems.. today's $300,000 EIS Drilling and Geophysical Grants was already released yesterday's Qtrly, but can't blame them for parading more guvvie handouts for aging exploration projects
So, the EIS Incentive Scheme drilling scheme "offers up to a 50% refund for
innovative exploration drilling projects"... where is the
innovative exploration in walk-up drilling an outcropping quartz-granite deformation blow with a very tight little gold anomaly around it? Seriously, the rocks stick out of the ground, geo's walked over it on two soil programmes and pre-drilling, pre-EIS application mapping and rock chip sampling etc. No reported rock chip samples over this period, no discussion of alteration or explanation why the old timers didn;t dig any holes or scrape and surface dirt around this area?
When did 'maybe it's a blind deposit doesn't come to surface but have to drill test it anyway' tiny brownfields gold target become 'innovative' and worthy of a government grant? At what point is bread and butter exploration up to companies to fund and not on the government teat?
Well done DRE if they can convince the EIS to stump up for every exploration programme they undertake, appear to be well connected because I'm a fan of the EIS but I' like to see funding go to genuinely innovative high-risk targets that add to the geological understanding and future discoveries even if they don;t make discoveries...
