Why spend money they have just had invested on buybacks? I am sure that this was not the purpose of the funds. I am sure further increasing the resource will pay dividends down the track and may produce greater shareholder wealth than buybacks.
Also drilling costs money, so I don't know why you are so upset that they actually spent money to build this huge resource over time. That's what mining companies do. If it scares you so much then perhaps put your hard earned into Banks or property perhaps resources stocks are not for you.
