IMHO the simple answer, and it is a short term thing, is the perverse effect of issuing so many options. While WP is the man, and I respect his work in 90% of cases, and I appreciate he is "johhny on the spot" this move was unnecessary and has had this admittedly short term effect. Who wouldn't dump shares if they had all of those options to cover any upside? However, disclosure, I am looking for money to hoover up as many as I can. Just IMHO of course .
