The FCCM haven't been targeted for CSG wells as they are full of claystone partings between the coal plies. Not only are they likely problematic to drill horizontal holes in, the partings are impermeable to gas flow. So there are a few technical challenges, but I remember there was a lot of coring done to test the gas content, composition and permeability in those seams. Being able to drill some test production wells funded by government grants will be of great help determine whether it is viable.
