100 tonnes a year from a pilot plant is not production per se...

100 tonnes a year from a pilot plant is not production per se but rather is produced for testing / qualification purposes. Yes, lithium carbonate might be produced but "production" in the mining sector refers to commercial production. I contend that Pursuit has over-reached by claiming that having product from a pilot plant means the company is in "production".

Anyway, regarding the claim that Pursuit Minerals will be the 3rd ASX company to produce lithium carbonate if in fact it does buy and run the pilot plant.

    1. Lake Resources (ASX:LKE): "Independent testing of lithium carbonate produced from Lake’s Kachi Project has confirmed grades and purity greater than 99.8 percent."
    https://lakeresources.com.au/lake-resources-project-overview/

    2. Lepidico (ASX:LPD): "...Lepidico is a vertically integrated lithium development business that has produced both lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide..."
    https://www.edisongroup.com/equity/lepidico/

    3. Argosy Minerals (ASX:AGY): "Industrial Scale Pilot Plant has produced >30t of battery quality lithium carbonate at>99.5% Li2CO3 purity". Argosy states that when they start producing 2,000 tpa they will become "only the second commercial lithium carbonate producer on ASX". They do not make that claim based on "production" from their pilot plant.

    4. Allkem (ASX:AKE): "Technical grade lithium carbonate and battery grade lithium carbonate (>99.5% Li₂CO₃) are produced at the facility and sold to a diverse customer base in Asia, Europe and North America.."
    https://www.allkem.co/projects/olaroz

I could go on with others that have "produced" lithium carbonate but I think I've made my point: Even if Pursuit were to produce 100 tpa of lithium carbonate from the pilot plant they say they are going to buy Pursuit would not be the 3rd ASX listed company to produce lithium carbonate and Pursuit would not be the 3rd ASX listed company to have commercial production of lithium carbonate.
