Thanks Doc, I really appreciate your insights. I wonder about the parts supply business. I remember Carl Bizon said that AMA would save a huge amount by shifting from buying (parts procurement) through local distrubutors to consolidated buying direct for the entire AMA network. Doesn't seem to have worked as far as I can tell, otherwise AMA wouldn't still be trying to get above FCF breakeven, as pathetic as that is at this stage. So, despite being the biggest player in its industry by far (not counting those affiliation / franchise networks like Fix Auto) AMA somehow fails to realize economies of scale with its customers and its suppliers. An epic failure of leadership.
