Mate, you have gone down Hash's rabbit hole, time has proven him wrong, and yes the company has changed direction.
With PL4, they proved we have speed faster than dram, hence the pivot to where the opportunity is, replace sram next to the processor.
We don't need years of retention, speed and endurance and replacing SRAM is the mission.
It will be upto whoever buys us to decide other developments and applications.
