I hope that the Aussie inventor has a massive finger pointing at Microsoft on his wall at home.
MS also breached copyright when they stole Stac technology's compression algorithm - they were sued and lost too.

I don't know how well patents are enforced in South Korea but it may be a little too early for that.
China - well patents are about as good as how much money you have to bribe government officials.
The chinese are really good at copying things, bringing out beta releases onto the market, and then refining it as they go.

The reality is that 4DS does have other competitors so the patent will only protect so much before someone else discovers a variant of the patent. Personally I think the US patent is a great start but it is all about first mover advantage in this case. So someone like HGST or Micron can purchase the IP, then license it out as additional revenue.
