I think the 'stepping out for a bit' was in reference to stepping out of the forum comments, not necessarily the stock. You have to read all the comments on balance.
Most of the 'trusted' posters leave enough wiggle room so that if it's a good announcement, they can say 'I told you so' and if it's a bad announcement, they can also say 'I told you so'.
