Here are the items that shook my faith today:

The statement there was no current market for SCM and by implication we are now playing with our parameters to see where our memory will fit in. That’s scary - build it and they will come. We’re now looking for a market as well. There’s a difference in knowing this is correct and for the company to state it as a basis for having to look elsewhere.
If there was only a modest reduction in endurance with increase in speed why would you bolden and highlight this and make it your first dot point in the release. What noddy is front ending these releases.
The etching optimisation still needs to become successful before the third lot can start. If x If.
Absolutely no mention of previous partners who were so important in the previous releases. No mention of their support and confidence. Only IMEC now having an each way bet. The impression is the company has started anew.
No mention of our new direction or business plan yet everything in these dot points suggest otherwise.

I’ll keep an eye on 4DS over the next couple of years but still a very rocky path to go. I haven’t abandoned 4DS but with the lack of tangible ongoing detailed information this company releases, it’s become a company of faith rather than critical knowledgeable assessment. I just lost a fair bit of faith today. If I had to rely on something more than faith I could interested again. Six years is a long time to keep the faith.

Totally agree. This stinks of a significant change in the state of affairs and not merely tending to an easily resolvable issue.

The need to mention no market for SCM reads to me as: HGST and WD aren't interested. So we need to keep working things to see if we can make it better until somebody sees a use for it, or keep working to stall until a market is established.
