I'm not overly surprised by this development, I said previously that I thought it would take longer. Leading-edge chip development is never easy and anyone who thinks it is is clueless.
They say it's a 3 month delay to their previous timeline - not the end of the world for me. I've been waiting 4 years and plenty of others for longer. They just have to get it right and if that takes longer then so be it. By getting it right we all end up with the excellent result we're here for.
Gotta love all the trolls jumping in with glee as if they've announced the company is closing down. 4DS are continuing to work with the leading semiconductor R&D organisation in the world and have agreed a Royalty deal with them - why would IMEC want to do that if they didn't think the outcome was going to be successful?
SP will suffer short term and today will be painful but for LTHs who cares as long as we can see progress to the finishing line?
