I accept and respect that your concerns about retention performance are legitimate.

But IMO, you are focusing on the least-important of the SCM attributes.

It is not just 4DS that says the performance objectives for solutions looking to address the space adjacent to DRAM are: firstly sheer speed; secondly endurance; and finally retention.

4DS has consistently confirmed that it is able to dial retention up and down by changing paramters of the other 2 attributes and has confirmed it has achieved "a pragmatic retention far superior to DRAM".

I'm not expecting to change your opinion with this post, but I would encourage you to write to the company to get their clarification. Personally, I've satisfied myself that they have this configurable and the language is non-specific because it is the lowest priority and is varied by use case.
