The price of gas in Europe is well in excess of oil on an energy equivalent basis .
Canadian gas is very cheap because of the supply / demand realities .
LNG exports should greatly help the Canadian supply / demand situation and gas prices should rise compared to oil .
The point I am getting to is that the liquids concentration of the gas won't be as overriding important as it was .
The miserable gas prices of a couple of years ago meant it was all about the liquids but it is changing now and in the future may even flip as it has presently in Asia and Europe where the gas is worth more than the liquids on an equivalent energy basis .
It is becoming obvious that gas powered electricity generation is a necessary transitional step in the progress to a low carbon future and it needs to come from a politically acceptable country .
