Danmar, SH's get an 'entitlement statement' (similar to a dividend stmt) that outlines their entitlement.
This is usually sent out just prior to June 30 and the coy should include a brochure explaining how to claim and in which part of the tax return to claim it.
It's all fairly straightforward - although having said that, when I made a claim for a JMEI back in 2016, I had someone from the ATO ring me and query the amount on my tax return - they didn't know anything about the JMEI (was a fairly new concept I think back then) or how or where it should be claimed on the tax return. I guess, not all that surprising from the ATO!
