bungalowbill...just to say I haven't had much to do with alluvial operations (other than detecting) my self, but watched what has happened with friends and associates from as far back in the late1980s. Companies do hand out (GIFT) alluvial rights to individuals. There's no bidding or tendering, it's a matter of who you know. I dont know the legality, but legal or not I'd be doubtful of the ethics in GIFTING alluvial rights to a CLZ company associate or employee.

Here's one short story. You'll have to wait for a few participants to die to hear the good stuff but ..
In the late 80's a semi retired American car dealer who used to travel over to the eastern goldfields (Kurnalpi) every year to do his metal detector work (and pick up his regular "gift"). He was so grateful to his hosts that he shipped over a pay back gift of a top of the range Ford F100 ute. No money changed hands as far as I know but this just illustrates how much money is turned over with alluvial gold.

Dont think of dusty old pensioners as busted ass try hards, when you get alluvial rights to good ground it's a licence to print money. Kat Gap is good ground. who ever has the alluvial rights should be killing the pig.
