I believe, "they can deal with their short positions etc." means cover. Cover their positions and cover their tears.
What is it? A 1 in 1000, or 1 in 10000 of these dirt scratching explorecos that become a mine? DEG is the 1.
With a PoG rally that covering may well have been a short squeeze. The shorts though are providing an entry position... I often use that.

PS From p.1, my caps, DEG, "has CHANGED the future... [for] our shareholders[!]" That is almost always hype, ie. the 9999 explorecos. This is simply accurate.
