Better not to have debt in this market and end up getting held to some hedge book which would not see us reap the rewards should the gold price shoot up again next year. Id take this funding option over the debt even if it means two Chinese fund (who cares anyway where the money is from) . I would hazard as guess that management looked at debt packages and found that there were very unfavorable and restrictive. In this market if you can stay away from debt then I think its a good idea.

Yes, you have two funds (who are pretty tied together) but that doesn't mean the end of the world. There are plenty of companies out there with little alliances going on within the funds/shareholders.
