Perhaps as a bit of a post script to history...

I found this announcement very satisfying on a personal note.

As a former AJM shareholder, in late 2017 - almost 4 years ago (!) - I had voiced my severe disappointment /disbelief at the fact that AJM was installing massive diesel generators to power its mine rather than applying PV solar and battery for storage.

Ironically, at the time when I argued for this, a poster by name "ElonMusk16" argued against this... too expensive...

I dDemonstrated that even back then, it was cheaper to install PV with backup storage:

I was then labelled an "activist" - as if that was a dirty word - and told that PV and backup battery was not "reliable enough" - otherwise management obviously would have opted for that:

At the time, people did not understand that there has been paradigm shift, whereby customers of more sustainable products (such as EVs compared to ICE cars) will demand a higher level of sustainability in their supply chain - something I tried to explain here:

Finally, to illustrate just how absurd some of the arguments against using PV solar to power the AJM operations were, people said that there was not sufficient space for all those solar panels. I had to go as far as illustrating in this post #29845646, where the solar farm might be located. At the time I pointed out, that talking about space constraints in the Pilbara seemed a bit absurd...

In one of my last posts on that topic:

I noted that unless the "Kalgoorlie Power Systems" KPS managed to switch to PV solar and battery power solutions , they might find themselves out of business within 5 years time...

The irony is that AJM went out of business, which was rather painful for an AJM shareholder like myself. But it is good to see that KPS is now also offering PV, Wind, and Waste Heat Technology as part of its product offering.

Most of all, it is pleasing to see PLS use Solar energy to power its operations.
