If you look at the report, you will find that the diamond core is cut in halves, then pulverised, then sampled.
A percentage is then worked out per tonne. ie the number of times the total sample weight, can fit into a tonne, then the percentage of gold in the sample extrapolated out. A bit more to it than the geo running the eye over it.
