Droneshield uses radio-frequency interference to defeat remotely controlled drones that use radio communications for the control channel. There are some significant issues with using this technology on the front line:

1. Autonomous vehicles are going to be impervious to jamming. Droneshield have developed a short range GPS jammer to interfere with attacks using pre programmed GPS coordinates. But this doesn't work against pre-programmed flight routes or visual recognition systems.
2. Unless you take extreme care with the frequencies being jammed, you're going to knock your own drones out of the sky along with enemy drones. Droneshield is working on dynamically controlled radio systems, presumably to allow friendly transceivers to shift frequencies away from jammed bands.

Ballistics and directed energy don't have these limitations. They will probably remain the focus for active battlegrounds where you can be certain that the enemy is "over there" and there is low risk of collateral damage from firing in "that" direction.

Droneshield comes into its own (as noted by @Tigerking) for protecting assets and personnel in "no-fly" zones where you don't have to worry about selectively defeating individual drones, or where the is significant risk of collateral damage in all directions. This means that Droneshield is likely to be deployed primarily in rear and civilian positions.
