Having been involved in selling a company (albeit a smaller one), as the Financial Controller of that company at that time, I can understand delays. The purchaser has a team of auditors and lawyers who go through everything. I'm a recent investor in UNSand I don't know the history but from what I read from long term holders, there could be skeletons in the closet. Even something apparently simple like some IP that might not clearly belong to UNS could delay the deal while it gets resolved.

So the delays don't bother me. And it's futile to speculate why the extensions, we don't know and may never know. It does worry me the more of them there are, though, perhaps they have found something that might be a deal breaker and are trying to resolve it.
