yes I think you are on the money with first mover advantage. MEI also have a huge war chest of cash so no chance of a CR in the next 1-2 years which will help somewhat.
when the scoping studies are both released, both by highly reputable engineering houses, that will be VMM’s best chance of closing the gap - if their study can stand toe to toe with MEI of course.
