it’s only a matter of time & Copper will join lithium/ graphite for the EV explosion currently happening.
Electric Vehicles require a lot more copper cabling than a conventional car.....
An average gasoline powered car uses only about 20kg of copper, mainly as wiring. A hybrid car uses about 40 kg and a fully electric car uses roughly 80kg of copper. Added to this is about 20kg for each charging point. So all up a fully electric car uses 5 times more copper than a conventional gasoline car.Dec 2, 2020
