What I want to tell you is if a medication has same active ingredient and same strength, they should do the same job even though the formulation differ. Different companies may use different excipients such as different colouring, suspending agent etc but the therapeutic effects will always be the same, or at least similiar. (An interesting example will be perindopril arginine and perindopril erbumine)
I am just really shocked you said a doctor told you they are different!
