Frustrating but you have to do the preliminary work first. If you don't, there is every possibility that you miss the orebody and walk away having spent a lot of money and thinking its barren when the ore body could have been 20 metres away.
Yes, copper doing very nicely (as are most metals) and I doubt it will stop in the foreseeable future. Production is falling off and not enough new discoveries of sufficient scale have been found to replace even existing need. Future needs will be greater again.
