Germany subsidises the crap out of its auto industry.
USA and China already dole out heaps of cash to places they think are in the national interest or in China's case, are nationalised anyhow.
To think that Australia shouldn't do this is just naive.
In case anybody hasn't noticed, there is a race on around the world to nationalise or grab hold of critical resources.
The two Oz Govt approved projects are in USA national interest also, USA wants alternative sources of graphite so the PSG bit I imagine if push comes to shove the Yanks will put some money towards via back hall corridors.
PLS got $250m in a similar loan from NAIF early on from Oz Govt and is now a $10b company.
Just need to make sure we tick all the boxes here and keep loan requirements and shareholders happy and we are off to the races.
