I would hardly call demand growing at circa 200ktpa+ “lacklustre”….!
How many “GLN’s” is that? Per month?!
I note that some recent commentary/analysis of future supply (and “oversupply” ) factors in best-case new supply additions, when it should be common knowledge by now (imo) that significant issues and delays are par for the course.
Demand, on the other hand, can rocket relatively rapidly; eg. Upon release of new EV classes by certain manufacturers etc.
The “lag” of supply vs demand is chalk and cheese due to the stages inherent in developing an asset to production.
