1.There are a lot of difference
to start with money at one go. Even a big parcel of shares trade at discount after market
2. Big players have more market knowledge and better market research than retail holders.
3. Big players can negotiate on the table while small players have to wait for the opportunities.
4. Big players may be buying on behalf of their client and keep that information in hiding much longer than a retail investor.
so a sale of more than 5% of a company at small discount means demand is there.
