I don't think this is any indication of collaboration or takeover what so ever.
Albermarle are buying the asset outright, it is a one and done transaction.
If anything it shows Albermarle's intent to develop wholly owned and alternative resources outside of Chile - where they still have many years on their current agreements.
I think this will leave a sour taste in many investor's mouths because now the company is "All in" in Chile, and there is no Plan B (irrespective of how far down the line the WLI project may have been).
$30m isn't really that much given the size of the resource and the neighbourhood in which the resource is located.
What's done is done, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the market.
I am now waiting for $0.25c before I buy (down from $0.28c - or a further 10% decrease on my target)
