Institutional investors show their support for a project by providing cash in exchange for discounted shares. One of Australia's biggest super funds, richest men and I believe one of the projects off take partners have all chipped in. Yes buying shares on the market is a sign of confidence but great support is providing liquidity when the company needs it.
