It's quite simple really, I look first and foremost at the company's financials and how the business is performing, not the SP. I like what I see.
Whereas you are reading the SP as an indicator of the business' performance. The trouble is that other things influence the SP in the short term as well. So it is not a reliable indicator of the company's performance and growth potential. If your attitude and decisions are purely driven by the SP you will always be two steps behind, irrespective of where the company is headed.
