I agree that the 3D printing process is over hyped in general.

The main reason I'm invested is A3D being the fastest complex metal printer. The commercial application of building parts/beams etc. as hollow trusses with the same structural strength for a fraction of the material used will transform the way structures are designed in the future.

3D printing nylon and ABS vs injection moulding and its cheap applications is a completely different commercial case and is what a majority of common 3D printers focus on. One that is only a marginal benefit.
