Comanche is a 7,600 ha breeding and backgrounding cattle property located west of Rockhampton in central Queensland. Interesting that Comanche wAs under lease to Elrose Enterprises beef until October 2028, and

Homehill is 4,925 ha of land also near Rocky intended to become macadamia orchards - so the owner (Rural Funds Group) will be keen to take it back on a date in the near future.

Being close to processing / breeding makes logistical sense, but how much will it cost to put infrastructure in place for intensively managed Wagyu cattle just to have it handed back to RFF in a few years. Also, if the land is so good - why would the current leaseholder (Elrose) be incentivised to give it up six years before the lease was due to expire.

the announcement is useless without AACo outlining specifically how they will generate more profit by doing this.

whatsarong with the existing 1% of Australia we already own ?
