Despite not being directly connected, you would think that many commodity / mineral consumers will change their sentiment / buying behaviour.
Fear of being caught out in case Trumpy decides to tax other imports as well may cause US consumers to start sourcing locally.
If I am a buyer, to reduce risk, I'd pick one cheaper importer of borate + one local borate supplier to ensure stable supply. Pretty much the same strategy at retail supermarkets which I work closely with.
