Daz, you seem to be missing the point, of course there is benefit is using the resource then putting the raw commodity into the state that it needs to be for different market segments, be that for fertiliser, glass manufacturing, magnets or what ever. The process isn't as extensive or of the scale which it would be for say RIO refining / smelting their iron ore into steel for export. Perhaps do some research on the methods of extraction, processing the elements towards what customers need. Else it only gets eaten up by a middle man. The proposal makes sense too me, though I have an engineering background which gives me an understanding of potential processes efficiencies, which equals increased resources revenue! Value adding.
