susanB.. Merril Lynch was taken over by... Drum roll... Bank of America just after the GFC of 07/08. I think 2009 it was totally absorbed. Brokerage was scribed off to Black Rock, then I moved back to Oz and shifted brokerage to Comsec.
Point being, the NASDAQ share price as stated in the prospectus will give 1 5E for 10 of the ABR, consolidation as the the price has to be higher towards being appetising for US clientele. My ML broker was apocalyptic when I brought SeaDrill at 4.10 after it came off the pink sheets, having resisted from Norway as it later went up over $48 or so. I got out at $38 as it used to pay 15-17% dividend before it all went turtle around 2014. They considered anything under $5 as a penny stock. Whole different way of looking at things, Oz low share prices (not talking market cap) bemused US brokers I used to know.
