The Thackaringa area for cobalt is a much better idea for AUZ in my opinion than doing a "me-too" laterite project at Flemington. AUZ are so far behind SCY, CLQ and even PGM that you have to wonder why they are bothering with Flemington. Better off trying to find a cobalt-only source like the cobaltiferous pyrites near Broken Hill.
If you roasted the cobalt-pyrite concentrates, you could make the acid needed by the NSW laterite projects and the Dubbo Zirconia Project and feed the ash into their process plants to recover the cobalt.
