NRW secures Bunbury engineering outfit OFI Holdings for $4m, reveals $64m in contract wins

Contractor NRW has closed the deal on a $4 million purchase of Bunbury-based OFI Group Holdings to support its minerals, energy and technologies division.

OFI specialises in industrial electrical engineering, automation, switchboard design and manufacture and construction within the resources, government and defence, fuels and explosives markets.

NRW said OFI already had a history of collaboration with its RCR Mining Technologies subsidiary and the bolt-on acquisition would also complement its DIAB Engineering and Primero businesses.

OFI is expected to add $40 million to group-wide revenue next financial year, with about half to be generated through demand from its METs companies.
NRW also announced on Monday that DIAB and RCR had secured contracts worth more than $60m with Fortescue Metals Group.


DIAB’s $30m, three-year contract for crusher and supporting infrastructure maintenance works at Iron Bridge mine south of Port Hedland is expected to start in May.
At its peak, about 50 people will be tasked to the job, which includes an option for a two-year extension.

The contract wins had helped to drive NRW’s stock price up 4.3 per cent to $2.19 by 11am.
