LPD are planning on a 5000t/y LCE chemical plant in Abu Dhabi with zero waste. Important byproducts Ceasium and Rubidium salts on the US critical list. Currently the only supplier is Sinomine in China. Best ESG credentials in the world for LCE production according to their DFS.
They are looking to tie up supply for the next 20kt/y plant more than likely located on the East coast of the US.
Like you they have a very shallow resource only requiring front end loader and tip truck to start mining. Once mine floatation concentrator is built orewill be concentrated to 3 - 3.5% and sold on spot market until plant completed.
The Chinese roasters have huge Lepidolite capacity and would love to get their hands on higher grades than their less than 1%. It actually sells at higher premium to spod for the same concentration spec.
I expect PSC/LPD to announce shortly.
