I'm no expert but from what I've gleaned, yes Atlas is utter garbage IO and is a rubbish company in terms of profitability also, but the key thing seems to be strategic port access and some of the ancillary assets perhaps.
MIN should bid up the price as much as possible just enough, so that the other two outbid, to max the amount Gina/FMG overpay for something they don't really need or want.
Or failing that, MIN should walk from the deal with a carefully worded parting shot in an announcement which points out how garbage AGO is and plunge the SP to <1c just to teach the entitled AGO ego's a little lesson. <--- wishful thinking yeah but would be great to see.
