But the same could be said for the high(er)-grade brine projects that are much further progressed.
Additionally, DLE isn't always feasible. You need LOTS of water to make it viable, and a lot of fine tuning is required depending on the chemistry. If DLE isn't feasible here then is the project worth anything - it's a big risk?
