Trying not to be biased as a shareholder, but I have always felt that Bega has treated dairy farmers fairly relative to some other rivals. Perhaps this is because they are more closely entwined with their local region rather than being based in Sydney or Melbourne. They certainly didn't engage in the disgusting practice of backdating price cuts that was on the news a few years back (for the life of me I don't even know how that was legal). I wouldn't begrudge a rise in the farmgate price of milk at the moment, it's an industry that has really struggled in the last couple of decades and it is not in the interests of anyone for more farms to close.
