Volumes are small (Sweden overall does 3.2% of EU's crude steel), with SSAB focused on specialty steels. And green steel (esp. at current high cost) is currently classed as another specialty. Challenge is to get costs down and scale up, which will require further tech development. But SSAB is located close to big industrial players who all want to decarbonise supply chains as per EU rules. And EU carbon credits will help with costs.
I see FMG/FFI doing the same in our region. Which is why firmer worldwide mandates from Glasgow would've helped. Especially up against regional competitors. But Twiggy's determination and energy are unrivalled in my view.
