One of those time savers was to apply what is called a Generic Environmental Impact Statement (GEIS).
Poor wording as generic is hardly what this document is.
However in their wisdom they have found most U mines need to address the issues contained within, the Gerenic statement then gets modified to meet the idiosyncrasies of that particular mine in the final SEIS.
In fact is was PEN that was the first cab off the rank to utilse the new process & cut down regulatory approval by a fair chuck of time to only 4 years (give or take). SML still yet to issue.
