Financial theory would say div or no div makes not difference to valuation... you are buying a share of the cashflow... and you will receive returns either via capital or div...
the high the marginal tax the better to receive the returns in capital assuming all things equal
not saying divs arn't good - but they don't change valuation... although the signalling effect certainly confirms the board is concerned with the outlook
