How? The US is the world's largest generics market, and the largest players are global companies that broadly already have as much manufacturing capacity in the US as they have sales within the US. They are well positioned to adjust their global supply chains to adapt to the tariffs - or even to sidestep them. Whilst no one player has overwhelming market share within the US, the largest player (Teva) has sales that are 3x greater than the 7th largest, which has 3x the sales of the 16th largest. So despite the fragmentation, generics co's are sausage machines in which scale matters. These sausage machines are the world's cheapest and most prolific sources of cheap generics. As a nation, why would we stop taking advantage of that, on who would fill the vacuum?
