I would be asking how many of those few surviving fingerlings have deformities, that is one of the major issues they have. There are 20 or so larval stages in SBT and get the nutrition wrong for any one of those stages and you get deformities and eventually bye-bye fish.

They have the same issue with the YTK, I understand the fingerlings are not up to scratch in the last few batches, plus add in disease......

I have no affiliation or axe to grind with CSS but do work in the industry. I get the impression that some here think spawning and growing fish commercially is a walk in the park, its not, even for well known fish like YTK and with only one hatchery in operation in Aus that spells trouble.

CSS is I think at least 5 years from commercialisation of SBT if they last that long, and then there is the question of how long to market size? I can tell you if it is more that two years from fingerling then it is unviable pure and simple.
