re: Ann: Additional Coal Seams Identified at ... happy enough to hear that
Additional coal seams identified at Amaam
Recent field mapping at Amaam has identified additional coal seams below the main host sequence. These seams lie outside the existing Resource envelope and provide further exploration upside.
The mapped coal exposures range in thickness from 1.4m to 1.6m. Preliminary geological interpretation suggests the presence of at least two additional seams in the lower sequence. The seams are trending roughly parallel to the synclinal structure defined by drilling. The map below shows the location of the mapped lower sequence coal exposures.
During the upcoming 2012/13 winter drilling season, TIG will undertake drilling to confirm the stratigraphic location and coal quality of these newly discovered coal seams. While drilling is required to confirm the geology, TIG’s geology team believe these seams are hosted within Cretaceous units below the Tertiary Chukchi formation hosting the current Resource.
